The Art of French Dagger
INSTRUCTORS: M. Ramón Martínez

ROOM: TBA
DESCRIPTION:

The French school of fencing for the most part has been associated by fencing enthusiasts solely with the small-sword, foil and dueling sword. An often overlooked fact is that French theory was applied to the use of various other weapons especially the dagger. It was especially cultivated during the 19th and early 20th century. In this class the students will be introduced to this rare form of fencing and will learn how apply the techniques of the sword to this shorter close quarter weapon.

Students must come prepared with jackets, masks, groin protectors for men, breast protection for women and gloves for both hands. Acceptable weapons are daggers mounted with flexible blades and simple hilts.  Spanish shell guard daggers are not suitable and therefore not permitted.
