Agrippa: Counterattacks in Tempo With Body Avoidance

INSTRUCTORS: Gary Chelak

ROOM: TBA
DESCRIPTION:

At the root of early 17th Century Italian rapier we find Camillo Agrippa's system of fence. From the introduction of the lunge to a large portion of our rapier terminology, a great deal of Italian rapier starts with this system. This makes Agrippa's system an excellent place to look for both better understanding and unique solutions to improve application.

Our subjects for this class are:

- to perceive lines of attack & quickly determine suitable/safe responses

- using counterattacks with avoidance with one motion.

We will be using the sword without the dagger or buckler. Please bring suitable protection for practicing with thrusts & some cuts.
