Telling Their Sword What To DO
INSTRUCTORS: Gary Chelak

ROOM: TBA
DESCRIPTION:

When fencing, swords touch - sometimes for the better and sometimes not. Changing that to 'always for the better' when they do touch is our focus. A little pressure on the blade can make an assault successful, whether it's for the constraint or a more complex part.

We will explore how to

- 'listen' & 'speak' with the sword,

- improve our constraint (with & without deliberate pressure),

- use levels of blade pressure to create advantage in a fight

Class source is from Giganti's 1606 on Italian rapier. We will be using the sword alone. Please bring suitable protection for practicing with thrusts.
