Small Sword: Street Self-Defense, Dueling and Facing Other Weapons

DESCRIPTION:

This class will be divided into three sections.

Part I: will examine the small-sword in its use for personal defense outside of the salle and the dueling ground. This will include facing multiple adversaries. The students will be asked to consider scenarios in varied locations and circumstances. They will be instructed in how to make efficient strategic and tactical choices for self-preservation. This will include the use of the un-armed hand, auxiliary weapons and close combat techniques. 

Part II: will focus on the elements of training required to prepare the student for a Duel.  

Part III: the students will be introduced to the Small Sword facing other weapons.  The students will look at the various tactical considerations.

 

Students must come prepared with jackets, masks, groin protectors for men, breast protection for women, gloves for both hands, small swords, rapiers, daggers, cloaks and walking sticks.
