ART OF COMBAT
NEW YORK CITY INTENSIVE
A Week-long Fight Directing and Combat for Stage and Screen Workshop July 3-9 2011.

Workshop

Participants from all over the US and abroad will come together in New York City July 3rd-9th, 2011 to train for one intensive week with the Art of Combat company in the skills needed to create extraordinary fights for stage and screen. Classes will include stage combat, historical fencing, acting the fight, finding your angles and much more. The workshop will culminate in a show that will be performed in New York City.

Schedule

Classes offered for the intensive vary, but are all focused on weapon styles as well as lectures on fight direction and other topics relevant to the art.

NYC Performance

The classes and scene-work throughout the week culminate in a production performed for the public and Friday and Saturday night. This gives the student practical application of the skills they have learned along with NYC credits for their resume!

Instructors

Classes are taught by world-class instructors in the art. This year's NYC Intensive instructors include: Jared Kirby, John Lennox and Kyle Rowling.

Art of Combat was created by a group of fight directors who had a vision for a new direction in stage combat.
