Defence against an attack in the outside line.  While the entire martial arts system can be used with the spear, the short section of Fiore's treatise which uses the spear as the learning tool of choice addresses defence against attacks in the outside line using any weapon or none at all.  This class will address six guards, attacking with the strike and the thrust from these guards and the universal counterattack outlined in this section.  Students should bring a light staff or dowel no longer than the student is tall.  No other equipment is necessary and control and caution will be required at all times.
