Continued to teach historical fencing, shifting focus towards teaching the fundamentals of movement. Teaching methods are based upon fundamentals of ballet and kinesthetic theory. Worked in conjunction with martial arts instructors from a wide variety of arts, teaching first at (what is now known as) the Rochester Phoenix Aikido & Fitness Club, and later at the Sho Shin Karate Dojo, which is also home to the Rochester Kendo Club. Taught privately as well from for a number of years. Since moving to Alexandria, VA, has taught privately in the DC area.

Instructor, Order of the Lilac
Co-founded the Order of the Lilac, a study group devoted to the research and study of historical Western martial art forms, originally an AEMMA affiliate organization. As the primary instructor for the Order, was responsible for the development of teaching techniques based on curriculum and materials provided by AEMMA (though official ties were later severed, the OTL remained on friendly terms with AEMMA). Was responsible for interpreting techniques into a cohesive pedagogical presentation for the OTL’s translation project of Sigmund Ringeck’s fechtbuch. Was responsible for instructing students at all levels of proficiency in the use of the longsword, drawing upon both the German and Italian systems, until it was disbanded.
